Creative thought is critical to design. It is nurtured in an atmosphere of trust and respect, in which ideas from all participants are accepted as gifts to the common endeavour: Generousity of spirit is critical to creativity in a group endeavour.
– Rand Iredale (1929-2000)
I came across this quote on a board outside of an SFU City program lecture last night. Architect Rand Iredale was the subject. He was celebrated for his creative problem solving, heritage conservation and approach to urban policy, which is regarded to have been very influencial on the shaping of Vancouver.
