My family moved to this community in 1978. I was only 3 at the time but I still remember the corner of North Bluff & Johnston being cleared of trees to make way for Semiahmoo Mall.

November 2004, I bought an apartment at Merklin & Thrift. In summer, you can often see me sitting on my balcony chatting with neighbours as they walk by.

Family is important to me. My mother Barb & I visit my sister Shambrai every Sunday for brunch. It’s become a family tradition. My father Howie & his wife Stephanie live in Jericho/Kitsilano. I visit my little sisters Caitlin, 10; Kyra, 8; & Erin, 7 as often as I can.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading into a subject I want to know more about. Over the past few years, depending on what I’ve been working on at the time, I’ve studied Behavioural Economics, Urban Planning, mosaic construction, television production & website design.

I am a novice graphic designer. I’ve volunteered my services to community groups such as the White Rock Youth Ambassadors & White Rock/South Surrey Foundation’s Semiahmoo Bay International Regatta.

Since mid-2004 I’ve dedicated myself to City projects full time. I chose to make this commitment because there were things I thought were important. It seemed clear to me that they would not happen if I didn’t invest the time to make it work. Luckily I am frugal. At times it’s been a sacrifice relying only on meager City Council pay, but it has been rewarding to have achieved the goals I’d set.

In the coming year I will continue my work with local youth, as I’ve done for 16 years now, on local projects that build leadership skills while giving back to the community. I’ll also continue to study urban planning as a hobby & work to upgrade my proficiency as a graphic designer.
